Commander Michael J. Nolan passed away on June 30, 2010 of medical complications related to his recent diagnosis of a very aggressive brain cancer.   A memorial service is planned for Friday, July 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM at New Heights Church; 7913 N.E. 58th Ave., Vancouver, WA    On duty time can be used to attend the services through coordination with your immediate sergeant or supervisor.

Mourning Bands have been authorized by Sheriff Lucas starting on June 30, 2010 until 12:00 midnight on Friday, July 30, 2010 the day of the memorial services for Michael Nolan.  The Nolan Family would like those attending from the Sheriff's Office to be in uniform.  The Class A Uniform is the uniform of the day.  A reception will follow the services.

Since March 1984, Michael was enthusiastic about being part of the Clark County Sheriff's Office.  He was involved in many community programs and supported the goals of law enforcement through many of his volunteer efforts.  He will be missed by many in the Law Enforcement Community, the La Center Community, the Little League Association and many others areas that Michael was part of.
